HISTORY

Lusuardi Moto is the Ducati Store of Modena.
Our company is not only a store but offers a very special technical support.
Introducing the founder of Ducati Modena.
Claudio Lusuardi was born in December 30, 1949 in Modena.

1967
He took part during his first race in Milano Marittima on an Itom 50cc.
That same year, he began to work in the workshop of Villa brothers, Francesco and Walter.
This first sport motorcicles were Ducati and Mondial. Villa brothers began to produce motorcycles "Moto Villa" as their trademark. Then, Claudio began to build motorcycles rathen than just repair them.

1969
He debuted in races of regularity with Motom but then, he preferred speed races with a Derbi 50.

1971
He participated in Italian Cadets Champions with Moto Villa.

1972
He debuted in the World Championship, first in class 50 and then in the classes 125 and 250 gategory.

1974
He wins the Italian Championship on a Villa 50.

1975
Once again, he wins the Italian Championship but this time with the spanish Derbi.

1977
He opens his first workshop and participated in the World Championship with a motorcycle he build himself, so he named it "Lusuardi".

1978
Claudio Lusuardi and Walter Villa join the Nolan and took part in three classes: class 50 with official Bultaco, class 125 with Morbidelli and class 250 with Harley-Davidson which Team Nolan found in the race dapartment of Varese.
The automobile race track of Modena is reopened for the tests of the two champions after being closed for 2 years. This demanded great efforts cleaning the track. Cartoon of the magazine Moto Sprint on reopen of the Automobile race track of Modena (1978)
Claudio Lusuardi and the Bultaco TTS 50 he wins the Italian Championship of 1980 1980
Angel Nieto wins the Spanish Championship riding a motorcycles with aluminium chassis built by Claudio Lusuardi. That same chassis gave the second place to Benjamin Grali.

1983
After winning 5 Italian Championships and 2 third places in the World Championship, he retires from the pilot career in order to dedicate himself exclusively to the construction and preparation of motorcycles.

1984
He became technician chief of Team Italia in FMI and contributed in the creation of Luca Cadalora's motorcycle, making his entrance in European Championship.

1985
Riding the same motorcycle, Bruno Casanova won the Italian Championship and obtained the second place in the European Championship.

1986
He retires from Team Italia and began a career as a tradesman and repairer.

1991
Claudio Castiglioni made him the director of the Lucky Explorer Cagiva Team in Sport Production Italian Championship.
A year later, he won the championship with Roberto Bellei.

1994
He Won again the Sport Production Italian Championship with Valentino Rossi on the Cagiva Mito 125.

1998
By that time, Cagiva and Ducati are associated with Claudio Castiglioni, who offered him a Ducati Concessionaire.
He definitevely renounced from race world.
